Note: Because individual stones can measure up to 12″, a typical installation depth is 10-11 inches for this rock — enough to fully bed the largest pieces without excessive material use. Installing shallower than 9 inches will leave larger boulders sitting loosely on top of the base rather than nested in, which can cause shifting and instability. Some pieces may fall outside the stated range as part of the natural mix. When in doubt, test a small section first.

- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a light presence of fines (typically less than 10%). Fines from production, handling, and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Fractured stone featuring a rugged blend of cream-white and tan-gold, with gray and darker charcoal-black pieces mixed throughout. Colors deepen and become more vibrant when wet. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. The cream-white, tan-gold, and charcoal-black blend is typical of this stone, with minor variation between loads as expected with any quarried material. Colors tend to appear more muted when dry and deepen noticeably when wet.

Grizzly Cobble at this scale delivers true structural presence — the mix of cream, tan-gold, and charcoal-black fractured boulders creates a rugged, natural look built for erosion control, retaining walls, and freestanding feature boulders rather than fine ground coverage. Worth noting — the dark charcoal pieces become much more pronounced against the lighter cream and gold stones after rain, adding strong natural contrast at a much bigger scale than our smaller Grizzly gravel.
