We wanted something in our flower gardens that wasn’t going to fade in the sun. A landscaper friend of mine suggested the volcanic sand from RockUtah. Without hesitating, my wife was ready to order.
Within no time RockUtah delivered the volcanic sand to our driveway, and it looked amazing!! A couple hours later and our flower gardens were gorgeous!!
It’s been several months, and the sand still looks better than anything else we’d considered. We’re so happy and couldn’t recommend it higher.
I purchased the sand but when I went to pick it up the next day, they didn't have any so I was forced to buy the pea sized gravel. I wished I had just gotten a refund. But I was trying to complete my project before winter so I felt pressed to just buy it. I am using it for my greenhouse floor and surrounding area. The color is great and absorbs heat. However, it has multiple functional problems. It hurts when you walk on it barefoot. The sand does not, which is why I wanted it in the first place. The gravel sticks to anything that walks on it and gets tracked everywhere! I have to sweep the sidewalk daily. It is super dusty for an enclosed space. I am going to have to put down pavers or something to have the functionality I wanted for my greenhouse flooring.
We were replacing our old raised garden beds with new ones and wanted to fill them with a peat moss/sand mixture. We bought this volcanic sand (and also some regular sand) from Rock Utah. I love the look that it gives the "soil" with the darker color and it was a great quality and price. I had read about the benefit have volcanic materials in your soil before purchasing but this was my first time using it. I've never had a garden grow and produce as well as it did this last summer. Pick up was also easy, they loaded it right into the truck for us.
I've used Black Volcanic Sand on a couple of different occasions, primarily as filler between flagstones; it's an easy product to work with. Also, the folks at Rock Utah are very easy to work with and very accommodating.
