Short of putting down concrete, this is the best stuff to put down. Easy to unload by hand and creates a hard, durable, compact surface. I feel it will be a good base if I put concrete down.
Used to dress the top of 3/4 inch gravel on road to my shop, it has a great look my load was really a medium-dark gray. Pros: it locks in well with a gravel base, makes a comfortable and forgiving walking surface, and levels easily. Cons: just one, when wet it tracks gravel to places like our patio and pool house. I am happy with with the look and ease of use. Still trying to figure out a solution to keep it from tracking in wet weather.
This material is great! It was a lot easier to handle than I thought it would be and it stays right where I put it. It looks great and give support for walking on it. Perfect for a path. I really like the color as well.
I will be ordering more for more work in the backyard, and I highly recommend this material.
See below for a picture of the path I made.
I used Olympus Insta-path instead of DG or other similar products because of its generally larger aggregate and fewer fines that would be less likely to be tracked outside of the area it was laid in. It also was a more cost effective solution for our backyard project.
The people are real nice and easy to deal with. It was easy to find what I needed and get it loaded. I was even able to buy weed fabric while I was there which was very helpful because I forgot it earlier. The rocks I got were great
Exactly what I was looking for! Looks great wet or dry and provides a comfortable walking service throughout my backyard, with shoes or without. Extremely happy with this product and will likely be ordering more when we get to our front yard.
Used the product to surround my shed and as underlayment for a patio. Compacts well and I was being pleased with the results, the price and the delivery service. I will this for future products
We are using lots of Olympus insta path in our yard renovation. The price is great. Rock Utah is easy to work with. It was worth going through them even though we live pretty far away. Here are some pictures of our ongoing project. We’ll be getting more Olympus path to finish. Can’t wait to clean up in the spring and start planting around the awesome and easy to care for paths.
I got bids for pavers to go around my firepit and it was outrageous. I decided to try crushed granite instead. I drove out to several suppliers, and ended up choosing Rock Utah because they had the best selection and were the most helpful. I left with a bunch of samples and ended up choosing the Olympus insta-path. It turned out great! I actually think I like it more than pavers because it has a more natural look.
