We are a couple close to retirement age who just moved into a new house. We do not want to spend a lot of time taking care of the lawn. And I really dislike wood mulch. In the last house we had, the wood mulch had to be replaced every year or two, would blow around in the wind, etc. In our new place, we have replaced the grass in our park strip and the wood mulch in the garden areas with the black lava rock. It looks great and is maintenance free. It was a pleasure dealing with the company as they delivered the next day after ordering and placed the lava rock literally just a few feet away from where we needed it. My only note of caution: we ordered as much as we thought we needed, based on square footage and a depth of 4 inches. We still ended up a little bit short and I had to run out to the site in Herriman and fill up the back of my SUV with a little more lava rock. So order more than you think you're going to need.

The rock I ordered looks great. It is a nice big size and is uniform enough to look really good in my backyard. Most was near the 2 inch size. The delivery and customer interface was really smooth. The driver was able to help me manage not to cover the road too much and avoid spilling into the park strip. I would work with Rock Utah again

We are so happy with how our Black Lava Rock looks in our yard. We used to have old, faded bark, which was hard to maintain with the winds in Herriman. Their customer service was great! RockUtah had the best price for the black lava rocks I bought last year. That included delivery. They delivered on the day they said. They were a couple hours later than expected. But they had car trouble I believe with one of their family members. So, that's totally understandable. Super nice people. I will definitely order from them again! The project came out beautiful.

The 1”- 2” black lava rock from Rock Utah was clearly the best choice in material for us. We’ve used dyed hardwood mulch in the past and it just does not maintain its’ color as advertised. Plus, you have to replace it at least on an annual basis. With the lava rock, install once and you’re done. The color will last for decades and it is priced right. Their friendly staff helped us calculate exactly how much we would need for our project with the dimensions that we provided. Thanks again Rock Utah. Looks great!
