Note: A typical installation depth is 3–3.5 inches for this rock, which provides good coverage for most applications. Installing at 4 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 3 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.

- Sizing: Primarily 1"–3" material. Some pieces may fall outside this range, and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a presence of fines (typically less than 10-15%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Fractured granite featuring a smoky blend of gray and sage green, with scattered pieces showing warm rust and copper coloring. Colors deepen and become more vibrant when wet. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. The gray, sage, and rust-flecked blend is typical of this stone, with minor variation between loads as expected with any quarried material. Colors tend to appear more muted when dry and deepen noticeably when wet.
